While on the subject of Canada, it seems that a new report from the Great White North has some interesting insight into the power of delicious meats.  According to the study, 43% of Canadians prefer bacon to sex.  Is Canadian sex that bad or is bacon that good?  I like to think that bacon is just that good. Another Reason to Love Steak

The Daily Mail in the UK just released information about the affect of steaks and other red meats on male semen (as opposed to female semen, ewwww).  The conclusion is that it decreases the quality of the semen and makes them slower.  It actually makes it much more difficult for men to conceive.  It’s funny, because the article makes this information out to be a bad thing.  Well, I’m not planning on becoming a father anytime soon, which means it’s time for me to eat all the steak I can get my hands on.  Talk about a natural contraceptive.  This is the best news I’ve gotten since studies showed Mountain Dew decreases the sperm count. Going Global at Plan Check

A couple of weeks ago, The Backyard Bite invited me to The Burger Culture Clash, sponsored by Stussy (which apparently still exists) and Plan Check. Plan Check, by the way, is a sort of new (since February) restaurant in West LA with Chef Ernesto Uchimura of Umami Burger fame. As my love of burgers, especially those of the umami variety, I jumped at the opportunity.

Although I arrived alone, I was not the only lone eater. Just next to where I was seated, I met e*star LA and we decided to share a meal called loneliness, because it’s better than eating alone. We made quick friends over our respective blogs and Midwestern roots, then got to work at dissecting the special menu, which Plan Check will be featuring for the next month if anything tickles your fancy.
