The effects of meat on the longevity of humans has been documented before. The late Unvegan Hero Gertrude Baines, once the oldest person in the world, gave credit to bacon. It turns out she may have been onto something big, as centenarian Pearl Cantrell can attest to.
At 105 years old, Cantrell was born the same year that the last Chinese Emperor ascended the throne and long before anyone outside of India subsided on a meatless diet. Not surprisingly, she said, “I love bacon, I eat it every day.”
Sure, it may be common for people to live to their nineties these days, but 105 is a totally different level and one that earned Cantrell a ride on the Oscar Mayer Weinermobile.
I can only assume it’s all due to bacon. Which means my intake of bacon really needs to be upped. And seriously, if you have never eaten bacon before, isn’t this enough of a reason to start doing so?
So, for living longer than I can even comprehend, powered by a steady diet of bacon, Peart Cantrell, you are a true Unvegan Hero!
