Uh oh, I’m bracing for the wrath of Texans.

Beans in chili must be a Southwestern thang, but I must be a little Texan at heart, because I definitely prefer my chili free of beans if I’m given the choice.

I’m not from Texas, but have friends who are, and the numero uno thing they’ll beat into your head about Texas-style chili is that it’s a Con Carne meatypalooza with no “fillers” (aka beans). So the black beans in yer chili? Make it pretty durn un-Texan. Even if it does sound dang tasty in its own right.
