That’s too bad. Mine didn’t get cold, but maybe it helped that I headed to the car after the first bite. The chilly air was something they probably didn’t expect (with good reason, being LA).

I wonder if your lack of cheese was because they were trying to crank them out as fast as possible. I agree that I’ll have to try again in a couple weeks. In a way I feel like I rated them based on potential since it really is unfair to judge a restaurant or truck on their first night.

We ordered three sandwiches; the Cheesy Mac and Rib, a basic melt, and the dessert sandwich. All three of our sandwiches were cold within moments of receiving them (we ate right there by the truck), and the basic melt (we got cheddar and bacon) was pretty light on cheese for a $4 sandwich.

To top it off, we got a parking ticket for being parked on Venice past 10pm, after arriving there at 7:45. We had heard of the 8pm start, too.

That said, I’m going to give it another try in a couple of weeks after they (hopefully) get their shit together. I hope it’s as good as you describe.

The parents belonged to the lady in white, who made the various announcements and manned the cash register. I recommend the gruyere with basil. (I was waaaaay back in line but after line attrition I was order #50 and got my sammies at 11:20pm.)

Otherwise, I think very few foods or really very few things in life are worth a two hour wait.

And also my nicer camera is at the repair shop…

You really went through a whole lot just for those cheese. They must be really tasty. I hope the truck would pass by our place sometime so I can also grab my grilled cheese. Yum!
