We can probably all agree that aside from silt, floods are pretty bad. But if there is one thing that can make a flood better, it’s meat. More specifically, moose meat.
That’s exactly what happened to a small village in Alaska called Galena. After floods cut off the power to preserve food, an Anchorage-based non-profit called The Alaska Moose Federation shipped out moose burgers, steaks, ribs and more. It almost has me wishing for a flood. Almost.
The moose used weren’t hunted down either. They were salvaged from roadside accidents, which means even accidents can result in good meat.
No word if Unvegan Hero Sarah Palin was involved, but the most important word is that meat is once again the solution.
