Last week, I brought you an interview with Frysmith, the newest food truck to roll out in LA.  Although they were opening Friday, I didn’t think there was any chance I could make it, due to a previous commitment.  At the end of a long Friday night, I decided to check Twitter to see if there were any taco trucks to be found.  I was pretty sure that Frysmith had already wrapped up, but I was still in need of some mobile foodery.  As I checked Twitter, though, I found that Frysmith was still at the Brig in Abbot Kinney, so I rushed over to see if I could make it in time. Frysmith Rolling Out Today

Try them out tonight!

The newest food truck to roll out onto the streets of Los Angeles will be Frysmith and their official launch is none other than tonight at 6:30 at the Brig was November 20th.  I haven’t had a chance to test out their offerings yet, but what I’ve seen on their website looks pretty impressive.  I did catch up with owners Erik and Brook to get a few questions in.

Going Global at Plan Check

Fries of the world.

A couple of weeks ago, The Backyard Bite invited me to The Burger Culture Clash, sponsored by Stussy (which apparently still exists) and Plan Check. Plan Check, by the way, is a sort of new (since February) restaurant in West LA with Chef Ernesto Uchimura of Umami Burger fame. As my love of burgers, especially those of the umami variety, I jumped at the opportunity.

Although I arrived alone, I was not the only lone eater. Just next to where I was seated, I met e*star LA and we decided to share a meal called loneliness, because it’s better than eating alone. We made quick friends over our respective blogs and Midwestern roots, then got to work at dissecting the special menu, which Plan Check will be featuring for the next month if anything tickles your fancy.
