Vegans are annoying. Yes, that may be a bold and general statement, but I’m sticking with it. And I’m not alone. A recent article in Gawker pointed out just how great the future of space travel will be for those on Earth who have trouble with vegans.
The article brought up some great info on the nature of space travel. Namely, it is not a realm for meat-eaters. In a trip planned for Mars somewhere around 2030, astronauts will have to bring all of their food for three whole years with them. Since meat, dairy and other good foods can’t really be freeze-dried and preserved, everything going on that trip will be vegan. After three years of that, we won’t know if the astronauts’ malnourishment will be from living on Mars or from the terrible food they have eaten.
One thing is for sure, though – if traveling to Mars means eating like that, I want none of it. But that may not be such a bad thing. Fewer vegans on Earth will make our planet a much better better place.

What, you’ve not heard of pemmican? Complete unvegan nutrition, densely packed, lasts at least three years w/o refrigeration. Could save a lot of volume for foodstuffs.
